All students at LPS San Jose will dress to the uniform policy stated below. All clothing must be sized appropriately (see individual garments below). Students who choose not to follow the uniform policy call home and may not attend class until they are fully dressed according to this code. Loaner clothing will not be provided. If dressing out of uniform becomes a persistent problem for a student, other disciplinary actions may result.
SHIRTS
- All students will wear regular polo shirts with a button opening that is no deeper than 5 inches. Polo shirts must be solid black, white, gray or purple in color.
- Any writing on the shirt must be approved by the administration.
- All shirts must be tucked in by all students at all times.
- Undershirts, turtlenecks, or long sleeves may be worn in the same colors. They must be worn underneath the polo shirt and be tucked in.
SWEATSHIRTS/JACKETS/SWEATERS
- Sweatshirts, jackets, and sweaters may be black, white, gray or purple.
- They must be completely free of any logos, designs, or graphics, other than the approved LPS logo.
- No hoods are allowed on any sweatshirt, sweater, or jacket of any kind.
- They must hang no lower than the wrists or students will be asked to remove them.
SHOES/SOCKS
- Shoes and socks may be black, white, purple, or brown.
- They may be any combination of these colors only.
- Shoes must be closed toe dress or tennis shoes.
- No slippers or flip flops allowed.
- No Nike Cortez Shoes
PANTS/SKIRTS
- Students may wear khaki-colored pants, Capri pants, shorts, and skirts.
- All bottoms must be made of a twill type fabric.
- NO DENIM FABRIC
- No stretch clothing or sweats are allowed.
- No cargo pockets are allowed.
- All bottoms must be worn at the natural waist and must not have excessive amounts of fabric stacked on the shoes.
- Skirts and shorts must be tailored and made of twill fabric and cannot be any shorter than the fingertips when hands are by one’s sides.
- Leggings or tights in black, white, or purple may only be worn under skirts.
ACCESSORIES
- Hats, hoods, and sunglasses cannot be worn inside any building.
- Jewelry and other accessories must not be a distraction to anyone.
- Belts may be black, brown, white, or purple only.
- Belt buckles must not have any logos or words on them.
- Rubber bands may not be used to modify any article of clothing.
SCHOOL APPROPRIATENESS
- No underwear of any type may be exposed at any time. This includes both boys’ and girls’ garments. Bra straps and underwear waistbands must not show.
- No skin is to be exposed at the waistline.
- Undergarments must not be blatantly apparent – such as a bright red bra worn beneath a white shirt so that it shows through.
- Students are not allowed to write on their hands, other skin, clothing, school supplies, or other people and their belongings.
